So I wanted to touch base about some things before the big day. J
First, we’ve been getting a lot of questions about bringing books from home for the authors to sign.
Here are some things you should know…
Barnes & Noble will be our book seller on site. They are super excited and eagerly awaiting the event just as much as we are.
For every two books you bring from home you must purchase ONE. We are allowing a max of ten books.
What does this mean?
If you bring ten books from home, you are required to buy five books at the event.
It would make no sense to have Barnes & Noble on site if we allowed everyone else to bring books from home, or purchase from Amazon, or another book store.
Also, Part of the proceeds will benefit GPISD’s Education Foundation which provides students and teachers with grants.
We will have someone checking all books brought in and on top of this.
Another subject I want to touch is the author parties.
Here is the schedule for Saturday, November 2nd
Book Sales8 AM – 6 PM
YA Author Parties9 AM – 11:30 AM
11:30 AM – 12:30 PMAuthor/NA Parties
12:30 PM – 3:00 PMBook Signing
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
The authors will not be signing any books during the parties. Please save all your books for the book signing. There will be tons of goodies in each room, but books are not allowed. If they authors want to give away books or prizes in the party rooms they can. But we ask that you please, please save your books for the book signing.
The party hours are for you and the author to mingle and chat about what we all love best… books. J
There will also be some authors selling ebooks via DROPCARDS. I know… unheard of, right? But awesome at the same time! They will be selling them at eBook price.
V.I. R Pass Holders
I will be at the school on Friday from 4 PM until about 10 PM with set up. I will have passes and goody bags ready for pick up between those times.
If you cannot make it on Friday, you can find me Saturday morning between 8 AM – 11:30 AM at the school.
I have also sent out an e-mail recently (to the PayPal email address used to purchase the passes) with a link to a form that you MUST FILL OUT. I will be using this form as my V.I.R Guest list. I will also be cross checking everything with my PayPal.
If you did not receive this e-mail, but have bought a V.I.R Pass please e-mail me Damaris@goodchoicereading.com.
Also, your V.I.R Pass allows you to skip lines. However, you cannot just jump in front of someone and say “I have one of these move back.” LOL!
For each line you would like to skip you will need to let an assistant and/or staff member. Each author table will have an assistant and/or staff member. All you have to do is let them know that you are a V.I.R Pass holder and would like to go next.

AFTER PARTY DETAILS
The after party will take place at the hotel at 9 PM and ends at 1 AM.
Ticket price for the after party are $23.54.
You will need to print your ticket and bring it with you in order to attend the party.
The after party is a themed party, but you do not need to dress up. The theme is DIA DE LOS MUERTOS.

We ask that everyone arrive between 8:30 – 9:00 PM so we can begin checking tickets. Also, at about 9:15 – 9:20 PM we will be doing an AWESOME author introduction! Don’t miss out!
